We are excited to announce our enrichment program for Fall 2026! From soccer to creative writing to dance, there are some wonderful after-school options beginning this September. Descriptions of enrichment activities and the registration form can be found below. Please contact the front office if you have any questions!
Class Capacity
Please note that enrichment programs have both a minimum and maximum capacity. Some programs may fill up and require a waitlist, while others may be canceled due to low enrollment.

Contemporary Dance & Choreography
Monday, 4:45 pm – 5:30 pm

Sun Room teacher Lisa Pawley will share her love of dance & movement with the Arbor and Academy!
Lisa’s formal education background is in Performing Arts, concentrating on Contemporary Dance and Dance/Movement Therapy. The class will introduce basic dance techniques and encourage creative and technical abilities. Lessons will incorporate beginner-level choreography with music, rhythm, and props.
To participate, students need only comfortably fitting bottoms (sweatpants or leggings), a comfortably sized t-shirt or leotard, and bare feet!

Creative Dance

Creative Writing

Arbor / Academy
Arbor Teacher Kelly Bristow will lead a creative writing class for Arbor and Academy students. In creative writing exploration, we will learn about what it means to be a creative writer and how we can become better writers ourselves. We will focus a little more on embracing the fundamentals of writing sentences and exploring self-expression through writing. All ages will explore age-appropriate poetry, short stories, and of course, children’s books – we may even discuss song lyrics, if we have ample time. We will also have writing prompts, organized according to grade/group level – fun for every age and individual expression!

DEILAB Lego Design & Engineering

DEILAB offers an exciting LEGO design engineering and innovation lab built on rapid prototyping, failure analysis, data acquisition, and scale. Our coursework focuses on mechanical, artistic, design, and robotics projects. The laboratory environment is structured to enhance curiosity and ignite ingenuity.
This Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) lab is a non-linear learning environment that emphasizes collaboration and creativity and reinforces 21st-century learning skills and common core standards.

My Gym of Bethesda will be hosting a gymnastics class! Arbor students will learn basic gymnastics skills and develop confidence, courage, strength, and flexibility on mats and floor-level beams. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in gymnastics and get an introductory peek into the sport.

Musical Theater

If you love to sing, dance, act, or direct, this is for you! Following an amazing production of Newsies Jr., this year’s show is sure to be fantastic.
For all interested parents and students, an informational meeting will be scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, from 4-5 pm.
Weekly rehearsals will be led through the fall, winter and spring by the musical teaching team, beginning on October 28. They will give students a chance to learn how to be the best actors, dancers, and singers they can be while opening themselves to the joy of musical and theatrical expression. Musical performance dates will be in April or May (dates to be confirmed in September).

Puzzle Lab
Thursday: 4:00-5:00 PM
$270 (9 classes)
Taught by OFS teacher Alex, students will use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the art of puzzle-making and code-breaking. Each week, students will explore a new type of puzzle or clue – from cryptograms and hidden word searches to auditory mysteries, logic grids, rebuses, and brain teasers; building a toolkit of strategies for thinking creatively and working through challenges. Along the way, students will not only solve puzzles but learn how they are designed, developing a deeper understanding of patterns, language, and lateral thinking. The program culminates in a school-wide treasure hunt, where students put every skill they’ve learned to the test as they race to decode clues, collaborate with their team, and crack the final mystery together.

Safe Sitter Babysitting Training

The Safe Sitter program, led by Academy Parent Shannon McNamara, is a certificate program that teaches middle school-aged kids the essential personal safety, childcare, emergency response, and business skills needed to start their own babysitting business.

This workshop, led by Academy Parent Shannon McNamara, teaches kids essential home-alone and personal safety skills to build personal autonomy, confidence, and safe decision-making. From emergency preparedness to setting personal boundaries outside the home and more, the course young tweens safely prepare for those first big steps towards independence.

Soccer with Unity Active

In partnership with the afterschool program Unity Active, OFS is offering soccer for Children’s Peace Garden students this fall! Soccer will be held at Norwood Park; in the event of inclement weather, soccer will be moved indoors to the Parish Hall. All games and activities follow the Oneness-Family School vision, focusing on sportsmanship, positive encouragement, and fitness for the total person.
Please make sure your child has shoes for athletic play and a water bottle. Soccer cleats are optional, but shin guards are mandatory in order to participate.
