• Elementary and Middle School Counselor

  We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary and Middle School Counselor to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will play a vital part in fostering the social, emotional, and academic development of students across elementary and middle school levels. You will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement effective guidance strategies, behavioral health initiatives, and educational support plans.   Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on social skills, emotional regulation, behavioral management, and mental health support tailored to children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive guidance programs that promote positive behavior, conflict resolution, and healthy adolescent development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external agencies to support student success and address diverse needs stemming from cultural backgrounds or behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and manage Edicational Plans with teaching teams.
  • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and available support resources while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Stay informed about educational compliance regulations and best practices in guidance counseling to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services aligned with legal standards.

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children or adolescents in educational or social service settings.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development stages, adolescent behavior management techniques, and social-emotional learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with special education processes, behavioral health interventions, conflict management techniques, and school legal requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students from diverse cultural backgrounds as well as parents and staff.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while providing guidance and counseling that respects student privacy rights.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, social workers, outside support tutors, and mental health professionals.

  Salary Range: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

  Work Location: In person at our Lower School Bethesda campus (6701 Wisconsin Ave.)

• Substitute Teacher

  We are looking for dynamic, creative and dedicated substitute teachers to join our school.

  Seeking substitute teachers for all of our grades and programs—from 2 years old, pre-school, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary grades 1st through 5th, and all the way up to high school. Montessori training preferred but not required. Different subbing opportunities are available for full day (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) and aftercare (3:00 pm to 6:00 pm) Monday through Friday, with opportunities for additional hours for event staffing and childcare.

  Experience working with children required. Please outline your experience working with children in your cover letter. Those candidates for early childhood education grade levels with 45 hour and 90 hour training/certification will get precedence.
