Congratulations to Allison Converse!

Dear Ambassador and Academy Parents,

I am writing to you with an exciting announcement. We’re happy to let you know we have welcomed Allison Converse to our Ambassador’s teaching team. Among many qualified candidates, Allison stood out as an excellent teacher who understands Oneness-Family School’s mission and vision.

Allison, originally from Arkansas, holds a B.A. in Political Science from Arkansas State University. Allison started her career as an educator in 2021. Her time as a middle school history and math teacher at a Waldorf-inspired charter school has given her a strong pedagogical foundation in place-based education, which, like Montessori, brings learning to life by connecting it to students’ real-life experiences and exploring multiple perspectives based in community, landscapes, and culture.

Allison is committed to a teaching philosophy that prioritizes developmentally appropriate expectations and genuine connection with students to support their growth. She has extensive experience in fostering a classroom culture where academic rigor meets holistic growth, ensuring that students have the space to learn through curiosity while being supported by a structured, stable environment.

Allison is excited to relocate to DC this summer and is eager to join our Oneness community.

The Oneness-Family School primary program for students in preschool through kindergarten is grounded in the child-centered, Montessori approach. The only Montessori middle school in the region, our students thrive in this academically challenging, interdisciplinary program, developing the time-management, work habits, and social skills important in high school and beyond. Students are encouraged to think critically on how they can make a difference on local, national, and global levels.
