Cycle 3 Week 9 Midweek Minute

Good afternoon,

It is the last week of Social World for the cycle. Students have been continuing their study of economics, learning about the circular flow of market economies. Yesterday they participated in a rousing simulation of this model. Next week is the start of final projects.

This time of year flies by and it can feel very stressful. Let’s all make sure we all take care of ourselves and each other, breathe, and be present to the opportunities for connection and joy that the end of the year brings.

Important Dates and Reminders (There are a lot of dates below; you may want to have your calendar accessible as you read through.)

Please review emails from the World Language teachers with details about the trips and what students need to bring.

Because this is a relatively short drive, students should not bring any electronic devices for the bus ride.

Tuesday, May 26 — Final Project Presentations 9:00AM

Parents are warmly invited to join us in the Peace Ambassadors classroom for final project presentations which will begin at 9:00 and should be done by lunchtime. We cannot be certain how long they will take or when any particular group’s presentations will happen. Please let us know if you plan to join us so we can be sure to have enough chairs set out.

Wednesday, May 27 — SW Theme Test

Thursday, May 28 — NW Theme Test

Students received their NW review sheets today and will get a SW review sheet next week. Here are the links to the documents we sent out in Cycle 1 with information about what students may bring to the tests and suggestions for how to prepare.

There will be an opportunity to change before returning to school. You may also want a hat and/or sunglasses. We will return to school in time for regular dismissal.

Friday, June 5th — Graduation

Student arrival is at the regular time. The ceremony is at 9:30AM in the Sanctuary and all families are invited to attend. Doors will open at 9:15 if you want to get a good seat. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Take care.
