Friday Update: September 11

Dear Academy Families,

Here we are at the conclusion of another successful week!

On Fridays, we will send home student work planners along with any important school notices, flyers and weekly Friday letters. We are gradually building up to writing Friday letters, the students’ reflections on their learning and joys during the week. We invite you to read and keep these letters and flyers. Their yellow folder is intended to be a school-to-home communication tool so that you may also review how your student is tracking their own work independently. At the bottom of the weekly work planner there is room for a parent/guardian signature, and we request that the student returns to school with their folder on Mondays.

Next week on September 16th we will be taking an outdoor field trip, so we ask that students pack a portable lunch, and wear socks and good walking shoes. Hats or sunscreen and water bottles are also encouraged. Any items students choose to bring they should also feel comfortable carrying for themselves. Any bug spray and/or sunscreen you want them to have may be applied at home before they come to school. Our field trip is scheduled from 9:15 am to about noon or lunch time.

We will see you at Back to School Night next week, on Thursday September 17th

Have a wonderful weekend,

Warmly,

Andrea and Emiko
