Hello Arbor Families!
I hope you enjoyed your short week at school! Here are some requests and reminders.
The Arbor is looking for Room Parents! Room parent duties include coordinating all-parent memos, occasional loads of laundry for our class rags, and organizing classwide celebrations. We’d love two room parents if possible, so please reach out if you’re interested!
We also have our first field trip of the year this Monday! Forms C and D must be turned in, otherwise your student will not be able to join us off campus. We also ask that if your student wants a snack, to pack one that does not require a container that they will need to keep track of. We often eat our snack outside on field trip days, and the bus isn’t always parked near us. Snacks like apples, bananas, granola bars, or sun chips are great options because they don’t have containers that the students would need to carry around. Please also make sure your student has their water bottle!
We love to have parents join in on field trips if they’re willing and able. Certain field trips have limited space, so please let us know if you’re interested in joining! Most field trips start at about 10, give or take, depending on how far the location is. We try to be back at school by 11:45 to give our students time for lunch.
Next week begins spelling! This is a practice week to get into the routine, so please don’t put pressure on yourselves or your Arbor student. Students will start bringing home their binders, so if they don’t yet have a bag that can fit a standard 2″ binder, please make sure they have one by Monday. You will see other things in the binder, but please don’t worry about them until the week after next. We’ll go over expectations and daily practice at Back to School Night!
Here are some important dates:
- Monday, September 14th is our field trip to Brookside Gardens (weather dependent)
- Thursday, September 17th is Back to School Night from 5:30-7. Please bring your questions, and we’re excited to see you there!
- Apple Sales have begun! Please see the flyer or the Otter Outlook to order your apples and syrup from Vermont.
Please let us know if you have any questions or comments!
Kelly, Sara, and Shelby
