Good Morning,
It was wonderful to see everyone at conferences last week. Congratulations to all of the students for hosting great conferences; your preparation and thoughtfulness showed in all that you shared.
This week students have been learning about the geography of India, China, Africa, and South America and how it impacted where people settled. On Tuesday we did service at school, decorating 100 birthday bags for Food & Friends. These bags will be used to deliver birthday cakes to Food & Friends clients; on our visit there we learned that they use almost 100 of these bags each week!
It is hard to believe that next week is the Festival of Lights (see important details below) and our last week before Winter Break!
Important Dates and Reminders
Thursday, December 18th & Friday, December 19th — Dress rehearsals for Festival of Lights performances during the school day. Please avoid planned absences.
Friday, December 19th — Secret Snowflake Celebration
At a class meeting, the students decided to have a Secret Snowflake celebration before Winter Break. Everyone has been emailed the name of their secret snowflake to bring a gift for on the 19th. The guidelines for gifts that the students agreed upon are:
*Gifts may be homemade or purchased
*The maximum cost for gifts is $15
*Gifts will be exchanged on Friday, December 19th
Additional things to note: Gifts should be wrapped and have the name of the recipient (but not the giver) clearly marked on them.
Friday, December 19th — Festival of Lights (please read carefully for logistics)
Bake Sale
Please bring a sweet or savory baked good to sell. Food must be:
*nut free
*individually packaged
*sent with a list of ingredients
Please bring food to school on Friday preferably at arrival and no later than dismissal.
Bazaar Work Schedule (come to the Parish Hall for your shift)
- 4:30-5:00 (Prep for Set up) – Hannah and Pearl
- 5:00-5:30 (Set up) — Benjamin R, Matthew, Sena, Jahna
- 5:30-6:00 — Genevieve, Maia, Sophie, Lucca
- After program-7:30 — Emilio, Sami, Avery-Mae, Clara
- 7:30-finished (Clean-up) — Benjamin T-A, Nicky, Amara, Mason
We would love volunteers to help support clean-up so we can start our winter break as early as possible!
Program Schedule
The Bazaar begins at 5:30 in the Parish Hall.
The program begins at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Students who are not working before the event should meet us in our assigned seats at 5:50 PM.
Students will have an opportunity to explore the bazaar when they are not working if they would like to check out, and possibly purchase, items from any of the vendors.
