Field Trip Tomorrow

Hello Moon Families and happy Earth Day!

We hope you are all well. This email is a reminder that our first spring outing will be tomorrow, a field trip to Locust Grove Nature Center

For this trip, we will leave close to 9:00, so please plan your arrival time at Oneness so we have time to use the bathroom and gather for loading the bus. We will return to campus by 1:00-1:30 at the latest. Students will need a lunch, water bottle, and small backpack in which to carry these items. We will visit their nature play area and then hike through a wooded trail to our picnic location. You may wish to apply sunscreen or bug repellent before drop off.

Summarized Details:

Locust Grove Nature Center

Departure: 9:00

Return: 1:00-1:30

> Bring a small backpack with a bag lunch (disposable items, no utensils needed. Avoid soups, pastas, thermos containers, etc.)

> Include a drink or water bottle

> Hat for shade if you like

> Morning forecast: 66 to 76 degrees

> Sturdy, closed shoes required for trail walking

> Long pants and sleeves recommended

Remember to save the date for the CPG Spring Special performance event and mini family picnic. That is Friday, May 15 and we hope all parents will attend. It takes place from 9:00 until about 11 or 11:30, beginning with our Moon and Sun Room performance on campus and then a family gathering at Norwood Park, weather permitting. The Parish Hall is our probable backup location. This is our most important event of the year, as all children will work to make treats, rehearse their performance, and create special projects for the event. We hope you can all come, and we will send more details and information soon.

Our next scheduled field trip will be next week, April 30, to Brookside Gardens and their live butterfly exhibit. Butterfly Exhibit Link As always, let us know if you (or a nanny, grandparent, etc.) are available and would like to chaperone. Moon and Sun classes will both attend this trip, and we will send another reminder next week. As for tomorrow’s trip, students will need to bring lunches and water.

Farther future field trip: May 28 to National Zoo

Thanks and see you soon!–
The Moon Room Team
