Hello Moon Room Families
It’s time for something exciting – our first field trip of the year! On Thursday of this week, September 17th, we will go to Bethesda’s Locust Grove Nature Center and Park – as long as the weather allows. There is a nature-themed playground and exploration area, a small visitors’ center with a few exhibits and live animals, and a nice trail system that allows for a relatively easy wooded hike down to a massive tree with benches suitable for picnicking.
Please check the weather and have your child dressed for the conditions. Note that they will be walking on dirt trails, so sturdy, closed-toe shoes that can get a little dirty are requested for the outing.
We will eat lunch at the park, so each child should come with a small backpack that contains a bag lunch plus a drink – or their water bottle. They will wear their packs on our hike toward the lunch spot, so lighter weight is better.
We will leave Oneness just after 9:00 a.m. and be back between 1 and 1:30. While we can manage this trip with the teachers and our bus captain, we can accommodate a couple of chaperones if you wish to come along. You may be able to ride the bus with us or can drive and meet us there if you prefer. Just let the teachers know if you are interested.
Thank you and take care.
The Moon Room Team
