Oneness Summer Theater (Grades 3-8)

Students from 3rd through 8th grade are invited to learn about drama in this three-week program, and will explore all the elements that make up a theater performance, with a focus on meaningful stories and social change.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in just the first week (July 10-14) or the whole three weeks (July 10-28). All three weeks will engage with political and social change theatre.

Week 1: SKILLS

Students will focus on building skills in acting, set design, and physical theatre through drama games and play. This week is intended for students who have not necessarily done theatre before, and are interested in trying out a new camp! It’s more relaxed than the full three-week program, with less pressure.

Week 2 and 3: SHOW

Students will explore directing, stage managing, producing and ensemble work. These two weeks are a progression that builds on the skills from the first week but will intensify as we engage in the process of preparing for a summer student show, which the students will perform for the Oneness community as a culmination of their learning.

The Ethos of OFS Theater

  • Young actors must work within a community, learning about the commitment and dedication that is required to do a show.
  • We think holistically and socially about theater and the context of the play in the world.

The camp day begins with arrival from 8:30-9:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm, with opportunities for before and after care for those needing extended hours.

Dates: July 10-28

Program Cost: $1,500 (3 weeks) or $500 (1 week)
