Cycle 1 Week 6 Midweek Minute

Good morning,

Thank you everyone who helped support the Peace Ambassadors’ AppleFest fundraising! We grossed $906 through all of the hard work of students and families.

This week, students have been learning about the parts of cells, what commonalities all cells share, and what makes specialized cells unique. They have also been running a lab to explore the effect of hypertonic (“salty”) and hypotonic (“not salty”)  solutions on osmosis (the movement of water molecules) in cells.

Important Dates and Reminders

Monday, October 13th — Half-day for Students
Dismissal will be at 11:50. Students will not be having lunch at school.

Tuesday, October 14th — Service at Food & Friends

We will be at Food & Friends in the morning, learning about the organization and completing a service project. We will return to school for lunch, a Social World lesson, and math classes.

Tuesday, October 21st — On-Campus

Friday, October 24th — UN Day
Arrival for students is at the usual time. The celebration is at 10:00 AM and dismissal is at 1:30.

Tuesday, October 28th — Field Trip: Red Wiggler Farm

Please dress for the weather and pack a non-microwave lunch.
