Dear OFS Families:

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to the new year. I also want to give a special welcome to our nearly forty new students!

It is amazing to think that it has been two years since we had a first day of school where all students were able to be on campus. It has been a long road to get to this point. We have been so inspired by the resilience of our community and we are so grateful for all the support from our parent community. Although things have moved forward in many ways, we all still need to be vigilant and to continue to keep each other safe by following all the school COVID protocols.

My hope for this year is to for us to deepen our sense of community at Oneness-Family School and to celebrate our shared values, such as love, compassion, courage, understanding, respect, inclusion and unity. In a world filled with so many challenges, from climate change to racial injustice, and so many political and social divisions, we can make Oneness-Family School an oasis where our students can have a joyful school experience, playing peacefully alongside children of many races, religions and nations of the world. We can be a model for how the peoples of the world can live together in harmony. We can provide our students with the tangible experience of a community that embraces difference and celebrates everyone’s gifts.

As we look ahead to the fall semester, I hope you will join me for school events intended to bring us together in a variety of fun and inspiring ways – from weekend outings to Oneness Expedition conversations. I hope you’ll also mark your calendars for our annual United Nations Day on October 22. Though the event will be virtual this year, it is a significant occasion when OFS becomes a center of international peace, bringing together representatives from nearly 100 embassies. I also invite you to get involved in the life of the school, in whatever ways suit your schedule and to become an active part of all we are building. You’ll hear soon about the ways you can join the team.

Here’s to a fantastic school year!

Warmly,

Andrew Kutt
