PAJAMA PLAY SHARING DAY January 5

Hello Moon and Sun Families

The Festival of Lights is now a great memory, and it’s a New Year already. We hope all of you had a nice end to 2025 and a fine start to 2026. We teachers are truly grateful for the many kind and thoughtful gifts we received from our students and their families, and we certainly entered the holidays feeling appreciated and ready to relax. You have our thanks.

Now… when we return to school next Monday, Jan. 5, we will be having fun with a great CPG tradition:Pajama – Play – Sharing –  Day !!!

This is a day when children come to school dressed in pajamas, plus (and here is the super exciting part) every student may bring a toy or game from home to share and enjoy with friends!!!

Our January virtue is Sharing, so we return to school with a nice day of sharing and enjoying good times together, much like the children have enjoyed at home. This “soft return” helps students ease back into school routines. We will enjoy our regularly scheduled specialist classes and follow our normal daily schedule, just cozier.

The basics:

– Students should wear their pajamas to school and do not need a change of clothing. Just be sure that they are warm enough/suitable for our outside play, considering the day’s weather forecast.

– One single toy or game from home may be brought in. Please avoid toys with screens, electronic games, or anything that may be a bit loud. We also ask you to avoid any combat/military theme toys.

– Help your child choose something fun that will fit in their locker and not break easily. Remind them that they will be sharing it with the other students, just as they may play with what their classmates have brought.

It is worth noting that if your child prefers and chooses not (or forgets) to wear pajamas or bring a toy or game, that is fine. We will help everyone enjoy the day and will have extra games and play activities available.

 Meanwhile:

> Our return to school is a great time to check that your child has at least one full change of clothes in their locker, suited to the weather and in their current size. We know some have grown since the summer, plus winter is here!

> Remember that in observance and celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day,school is closed on January 19th. We will enjoy some books, presentations, and discussions about the life, work, and legacy of this and other civil rights leaders, tailored to suit the developmental level of our young students.

Montessori Night will take place on January 29th, with more information to come.

> There will be no school on January 30 due to staff training.
