Academy Class Update

Dear Peace Academy Families,

We hope this note finds you well. We had a wonderful week together, full of curiosity, creativity, and community. Here are a few updates and reminders as we head into the weekend:

Monday Half Day
This coming Monday is a half-day for all students. Pick-up for Peace Academy will be at 11:40 a.m. We’ll enjoy a group snack together that morning, but there will be no lunch period.

Hearing and Vision Screening
The school will be conducting our annual hearing and vision screenings soon. You will receive an email from the school on Monday with more information about scheduling and next steps.

Our field trip to Connie Morella Library was successful! Each student found at least two relevant books to their area of interest. We received a tour of the children’s non-fiction section and met two librarians!

Attached we have provided our class agreements generated by the students over many weeks and through several guided discussions and reflective activities. Their writing illustrates what kind of class community and environment they want to have this year, and what actions they will take to maintain and strengthen our community. You will also find our computer guidelines attached, and we would greatly appreciate it if you review this with your child, and please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support. Wishing everyone a peaceful and restorative weekend.

Warmly,

Emiko Morgenstern and Andrea Dillon
Peace Academy Teachers
