Financial Aid for School Tuition

The cost of educating a student at Oneness-Family School exceeds our tuition amount by several thousand dollars, and we supplement the difference for all families by drawing on annual giving resources. Depending on their unique financial circumstances and need, our enrolled families pay anywhere from $500 to our highest tuition amount.

Oneness-Family School offers tuition assistance based on financial needs to current and incoming families. OFS’s Financial Aid Program is designed to provide students an opportunity for an education that might otherwise be inaccessible for them and to provide the School with a well-qualified student body reflecting economic diversity.

All requests for financial aid should be made online using the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program. The application opens each year on December 1. Prospective families applying for financial aid for the upcoming school year must apply no later than January 15th.

For the 2024-25 school year, Oneness-Family School allocated $596,100 in financial aid to 36% of our students with an average award of $11,492. Financial Aid awards ranged from $2,000 to $31,350.Content goes here

Financial Aid Application Process

Apply Online

Prospective and current families seeking financial assistance are asked to submit an application through the Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) program. Please note that this service does not provide a source of funding – their role is to provide our Financial Aid Committee with an estimated family contribution (EFC) towards the tuition costs. The Financial Aid Committee uses this EFC as a tool in determining an appropriate grant allocation for each student while keeping within an overall financial aid budget established each year. Oneness-Family School will make the final determination for financial assistance.

Families may begin the FAST application online any time after December 1st. The application can be completed in English or Spanish.

Current Families: All applications are due by December 15th.

Prospective Families: All applications are due by January 15th.

The application fee for FAST is $53 (families will pay FAST directly). If you have questions or need assistance, please reach out by phone to the FAST support center at 1-877-326-FAST(3278) or by email to help@ismfast.com.

Submit Tax Documents

For the upcoming school year, please submit the following tax documents to FAST:

  • Your most recent tax returns
  • You may also have to submit additional documents based upon the information on your FAST application.

Once FAST receives your tax documents, an email indicating that your application has been verified will be sent.

Financial Aid Committee Review

OFS’s Financial Aid Committee reviews the information provided to FAST and will notify family of the financial aid decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Other schools use different financial aid service providers to help them assess a family’s ability to pay school costs. How do I know which one to use?

Be sure you are filling out the FAST Oneness-Family School Financial Aid Application.

2. Must I file the FAST online, or can I use a paper application?

You must complete the FAST online. The fee to file is $53. Paper applications are no longer accepted.

3. Why does the school want to see my tax information?

The school has a financial aid budget set aside for deserving families who need help to pay their tuition. Verifying income is one way for the school to determine those who truly need assistance.

4. What supporting documents must I submit to FAST?

We require that you submit your most recent Federal Tax documents, most recent W2, and the previous year’s W2 directly to FAST either by mail or online. No tax documents should be sent to Oneness-Family School.

5. How do I know if I will qualify for need-based financial aid?

Any family may apply for need-based financial aid. Parents should not assume that because of their income they may not qualify. Some of the factors that are considered when determining need include: income, what you own (your house and other investments), what you owe (your mortgage and other debts), the size of your family, and how many children are enrolled in tuition-charging schools. All financial information shared with Oneness-Family School remains confidential and is used only for the purpose of determining eligibility.

6. If I applied last year, do I have to complete another financial aid application?

Yes, a new financial aid application must be filed for every year that you apply for financial aid because your family’s financial situation can change from year to year.

7. Who do I call for help in completing the FAST financial aid application or uploading tax documents?

Please reach out by phone to the FAST support center at 1-877-326-FAST(3278) or by email to  help@ismfast.com.

After spending 11 years here, I believe I have the right to say this is the place where I found my second home when the first was out of sorts.

Alara shares her 8th-grade graduation speech, given on June 6, 2024.

My first day of school was right here in this building. Three years old, wearing my little light blue T-shirt with multicolored houses on it. I was placed in a classroom I had never been before with people I had never met. I was scared out of my mind, screaming in the halls as my mum dropped me off. To me at that moment, that classroom was the worst place on earth but nowadays I just call it the Sun Room.

I gradually became very comfortable in this new environment, unaware of how deeply formative and important the next 3 years of my life would be. In that classroom, among many other skills, I learned the beloved state song, developed my love for the theater, formed friendships I still have to this day, and sang Conjunction Junction a disturbing number of times.

As I moved through each of the classrooms, I discovered a new part of myself. I continued to perform for crowds. Whether I was playing Edgar in Aristocats or Fiona in Shrek, I was and am very consistent. I’m a nervous wreck before I step on stage, but as I take my final bow, I am distraught, realizing the show is over.

This almost perfectly explains how I felt transitioning from classroom to classroom. I would enter anxious but quickly get extremely attached to my teachers and peers. Then, when graduation approached, I would mournfully depart as I transitioned into each new classroom.

But luckily, whereas musicals end, I have learned that my connections, experiences, and time here at Oneness will never be over. This school is not only a great educational experience but a place where relationships and your well-being never come second. It is a place that allows you to grow into your own unique person. It is a place where you make friendships with the people you’d least expect. And after spending 11 years here, for about 10 hours a day, give or take, I believe I have the right to say this is the place where I found my second home when the first was out of sorts.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make me the person I am today, preparing me for the next stages of my life. And since it feels weird to say goodbye, as I will probably be walking in these halls for years to come, I will say see you later. I am so grateful for the time I spent with you all. Thank you so much.
