Hi everybody,
The Church has been getting complaints from Town of Chevy Chase residents about the volume of our students outside on the blacktop and playground. While nobody expects silence (or even quiet, per se), I'd like to ask that we work together to set (and uphold) some volume boundaries around things like the following:
- Battle cries
- Window shattering screeches
- Gleeful-yet-startling screams
- Loud cultish chants (pre-yelling cultish chants are in theory acceptable, as long as they can be contained)
Reminders to the students as a group before going outside, as well as to individual perpetrators in the moment, are examples of small things that can be practiced to help set and keep the volume standards that we're looking for.
I appreciate everybody's attention to this. Feel free to utilize this thread to share any other ideas on how we can collectively avoid disturbing the peace.
Many Thanks
Luis
