Community Nature Outing

On Saturday, April 27, we will be hosting our first outdoor community event of the year—a Oneness Nature Excursion! OFS families will have the choice of two wonderful outdoor activities led by school founder Andrew Kutt and facilities manager Luis Fermin. All events will begin at 10:30 AM at Riley's Lock in Poolesville, Maryland.

Activity Registration

Information on activity options can be found below. All students must be accompanied by a parent. Please register via the RSVP form by Monday, April 22 and indicate which option you are requesting and how many family members will be joining. We hope to see you there!

Nature Hike with Luis

Riley's Lock, 10:30 am

Luis is the leader of our Earth Keepers hiking summer program and is the chair of the Muddy Branch Nature Conservancy. Luis will guide a gentle walk on the canal trail to Violette's Lock and back. Total duration will be about 90 minutes of leisurely walking with stops for observation and conversation.

Canal Bike Ride with Andrew

Pennyfield Lock, 1:30 pm

Andrew is a deep lover of nature and has been exploring the Potomac River region for over three decades. This bike ride along the canal south from Pennyfield Lock to Riley‘s Lock and back is one of Andrew's favorite rides, and he’ll share a bit about the animals, plants and history along this route. Bring your own bike!
