Oneness-Family School provides a child-centered learning approach. According to Mr. Kutt, "We try to honor the ideas and visions of the children. Our starting point for the educational process is what is going on inside of them, rather than inundating them with information from the outside. Once they become more secure in the knowledge that they are special and important individuals, and that what they have to share is valuable, the students are in a much better position to process and retain new information, concepts and skills." The school curriculum provides a blend of creative arts and academics and includes multi-cultural studies, non-violent conflict resolution, cooperation skills, and respect for individual learning styles.

As
the children are given opportunities to take on a series of different jobs
in the classroom, they learn real life skills, and experience cooperation
and becoming part of a team. They are also able to discover and discuss
what kinds of things they enjoy doing and come easily to them, and what
kinds of things present challenges. Their differences in these areas help
them to discover the ways in which they and their classmates and teachers
are each unique." |

"Stop
mode" is the first step in the conflict resolution process practiced
at all ages at Oneness. By practicing conflict resolution skills on a
regular basis, students learn much about themselves and their own behavior,
and also learn to hear from others why they behave as they do. Subsequent
steps in the process allow for brainstorming possible solutions and reaching
agreements.
