Summer Programs

Peace Weavers
ages 3½ - 6½ years old

The Peace Weavers program offers a traditional day-camp experience with weekly field trips to museums, parks, theaters, and other venues for fun learning.
A typical Peace Weaver day is packed with materials to build and create with in the classroom, circle time with stories, songs and sharing, outdoor playtime, water play, and field trips. Past field trip destinations have included the US Botanical Garden, the National Zoo and Smithsonian Museums, Clemyjontri Park, Rock Creek Park and Planetarium, and local organic farms to name a few.
Half-day options are available for campers 9:00am - 1:00pm. All campers must pack a nut-free lunch each day. We do provide the time and space for our younger campers to have an afternoon rest if needed. And at any time, the campers can take a relaxing break in the classroom peace corner - an intentional space for campers to find stillness and serenity.

The minimum age requirement for Peace Weavers is 3½ years old. Three-and-a-half is defined as a child who is turning 4 years old in less than 6 months.

Your camper must be 3½ years old by the start of their camp session or week. This means that if your child is turning 3 years and 6 months in mid-July, then that child may enroll and start in Peace Weavers on the Monday of the week immediately following the 6-month mark.
Further, your 3½ year-old must be potty independent in order to participate with Peace Weavers. We define potty independence as the child being able to: identify his or her own needs, and taking and completing actions independently (e.g. wiping, flushing, washing hands).
Children beyond 6 ½ years and entering 1st grade in Fall 2017 may also participate in Peace Weavers. Rising first graders are also welcome to enroll in Earth Keepers.
